OAKLAND — Oakland police were on scene to investigate multiple shots fired on 74th Avenue near Holly Street in East Oakland late Tuesday afternoon.

It was not immediately known if anyone was hit, and a request for comment from OPD had not been returned. The street was blocked off from Holly Street to International Boulevard as yellow crime scene markers were placed by a crime scene technician, but a sidewalk remained open and residents and their children were able to come and go from their residences. A bullet hole was seen in a car window, and across the street, a vehicle appeared to have struck another vehicle which was parked.

According to police scanner traffic, suspects were in custody after being detained at Bancroft and 61st Avenues, and another car that was possibly involved was found in West Oakland.

Earlier Tuesday, at approximately 1:58 p.m., a shooting was reported near the 8600 block of MacArthur Boulevard, a few blocks away from the Castlemont Senior High campus, police said. A teen was wounded, but no word was immediately available on the teen's condition or any suspect description.
