Some fans began to pour in at the Lew Wolff Training Complex in Mesa, Ariz., where Oakland Athletics pitchers and catchers continued to work on their game ahead of the full squad reporting in next week.
Pitchers such as Sean Manaea and Jesus Luzardo worked on their fielding with a series of training drills to simulate game scenarios such as running to first base for an out and fielding singles that come buzzing their way.
Catchers got work behind the plate and also took some swings at bat in the early stages of practice.
The A's full roster is expected to check in on Monday, Feb. 17 and will have practice for a few days before playing the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 1:05 p.m.
