  • Cristina Buccieri of Port Chester, NY and Naturalist Ryan MacLean of Greenwich Audobon participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count at the Greenwich Audubon Center on Feb 15, 2020 in Greenwich, Connecticut. About a half dozen birding enthusiasts from around the Fairfield County area, including Port Chester, New York, were able to identify 14 different species of birds in a span of thirty minutes. The data collected is then uploaded to an online database and used by ornithologists to study the health of our bird populations. The group also learned how to identify and count backyard songbirds at the bird feeders while taking a brief walk outside to find birds.
