CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) — Dozens of pictures found in a Charlottesville office building on Preston Avenue several months ago are now back in the proper hands.

NBC29 aired a story last Thursday about a man who posted a collection of photos on Craigslist and the woman determined to find the owners.

In a very short amount of time, the search was over.

Frank Squillace was reunited Friday, February 14, with family photos that had been missing for more than 25 years.

Squillace says he has moved a few times, so he didn't even realize some of his family pictures were missing from his bins.

The man who posted the Craigslist ad said he was about to discard them, but Linda Catoe stepped in to find the rightful owner. She kept the photos safe and secure at her Court Square office.

"She's an angel. I was talking to my buddies this morning about how angels come across your life, and she's certainly an angel, just someone out of the blue," Squillace said.

Franks says as soon as the story aired Thursday night, he got many texts and calls from his friends. He says how the bin got to the office building will remain a mystery unsolved.

The search is on to find anyone who may know someone in photos over 25 years old.

A couple of months ago, someone found a box full of dozens of family photos in an office building at 300 Preston Avenue in Charlottesville, Virginia, but so far — no one has stepped up to claim them.

The man who found them posted an ad on Craigslist and was about to discard them, but Linda Catoe is determined to find the rightful owner. She is keeping the photos safe and secure at her office at 500 Court Square.

"I like helping people and I feel like this person probably wondered what happened to their pictures and what not and I would like very much for them to get these," Catoe said.

If you recognize anyone in the photos, you can contact Linda Catoe at (434) 296 - 6112. However, you will have to prove you know the people or you are family.
