Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in honor of Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of death and destruction. Hundreds of thousands of devotees from across India, Nepal and Sri Lanka celebrate Maha Shivaratri by offering special prayers and fasting to worship Lord Shiva.
